Terms of Use

For this tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro  ~ download a trial version.
Brush (creator unknown) ~ download here.
**For v7 - unzip into your PSP Brushes folder.
**For v8 - unzip the brush onto your desktop, then in PSP8,
File > Import > Custom Brush > Open > Find the brush where you unzipped it > Open > Add All > Ok.

 

Open the image of choice or right click the image below, copy, then paste as a new image in PSP.

Band #1

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose a dark color from your image, I am using black.
Symmetrical 1

 

Band #2

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose a light color from your image, I am using #F4E4D8.
Symmetrical 20

Activate your magic wand tool and set at:
Tolerance 0
Feather 0
Anti-alias unchecked

Select your light border.

Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Uniform, 15% > ok.

Effects > 3D effects > Inner Bevel > these settings:
Bevel shape 1
Width  7
Smoothness  55
Depth  4
Ambience  -10
Shininess  13
Color white
Angle  335
Intensity  39
Elevation  43

Selections > Invert.

Effects > 3D effects > Cutout > these settings:
Horizontal & Vertical 0
Opacity 85
Blur 30
Shadow Color black
Fill unchecked

Selections > Invert.

Activate your air brush tool and select the new023 006 brush but change the size to around 100.  (Click here for a view of the brush settings.)

Set your foreground to a darker version of the color of your border, I am using #4A2C16.

Start in the top left corner and click and drag around your border.

If you want it darker go around a second time.

Effects > Art Media Effects > Brush Strokes > these settings:
Softness 0
Bristles 33
Width 6
Opacity 4
Length 15
Density 50
Angle 3
Color black

Selections > Select none.

 

Band #3

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose a dark color from your image, I am using black.
Symmetrical 1

 

Band #4

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose the same light color from your image, I am using #F4E4D8.
Symmetrical 15

Activate your magic wand tool and select your light border.

Effects > 3D effects > Cutout > these settings:
Horizontal & Vertical 0
Opacity 85
Blur 15
Shadow Color black
Fill unchecked

Selections > Select none.

 

Band #5

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose a dark color from your image, I am using black.
Symmetrical 1

 

Band #6

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose the same light color from your image, I am using #F4E4D8.
Symmetrical 20

Activate your magic wand tool and select your light border.

Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Uniform, 15% > ok.

Effects > 3D effects > Inner Bevel > same settings.

Activate your air brush tool and using the same settings as before click and drag around your frame, just as you did before.

Effects > Art Media Effects > Brush Strokes > same settings.

Selections > Select none.

 

Band #7

Image > Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
Color chose a dark color from your image, I am using black.
Symmetrical 1

Save your image in preferred format and you are all done!
